FROM THE REGISTRARS DESK

Bunyala Technical and Vocational College was established in October 2017 and officially started its operations in January 2018. The institution is the result of government initiative to establish at least one technical and vocational college in every constituency. Bunyala TVC is a public Technical, Vocational education and Training (TVET) institution established and registered by the TVET authority (Reg. No TVET/PUBLIC/RS/0057/2017) in October 2017. The college was among the first 60 TVET institutions to be established under the initiative.

As an office, we have ensured that trainee enrolment continues to grow every admission cycle. This has been made possible through cooperation with church leaders, Principal’s of High schools within Bunyala sub county, and NGAO.

We receive trainees from different parts of the country and this has enabled us to embrace diversity and foster national cohesion. The college has nine academic departments namely:

  • Agriculture and Environmental science
  • Building & Civil engineering
  • Business studies
  • Electrical & electronic engineering
  • Computing & informatics
  • Hospitality & Institutional management
  • Mechanical /Automotive
  • Liberal studies
  • Fashion design and cosmetology

Each department is headed by qualified staff. As Bunyala TVC we boast of well equipped workshops with state of the art equipments that are key to imparting skills to trainees.

The college has unique courses like poultry layer production, kienyeji production, Poultry broiler production and pig production.

As an office we have ensured that on admission day, all new trainees are captured on the TVET Mis system. We also establish HELB desk where new and continuing trainees are assisted to apply for both Loan and Government scholarship. This has gone along way in easening the burden of fee payment from the parent /guardian.

The college has fully complied with government directive to roll out modular curriculum and i can confidently say we are on the correct tract in so far as modular curriculum implementation is concerned.

We also nurture talents through sports, ball games, choir and drama. Bunyala TVC is the defending champion in women volleyball for three years consecutively.

I take this opportunity to welcome all form four leavers and class eight leavers to join our institution and they will be moulded into better future citizens ready for the job market.
